Founder & Principal ConsultantStephen spent eleven years at Whitbread the group behind Premier Inn and Beefeater progressing from revenue management analyst to leading its data science and analytics innovation function. Throughout that career, the work that mattered most was always the same: identifying where smarter tooling or better data could change a commercial decision, and then building the thing.
He designed core modules for Premier Inn's Automated Trading Engine, built a group booking system from proof of concept through to live deployment, introduced machine learning to the revenue function's cancellation modelling, and ultimately led a team delivering predictive tools, experimentation frameworks using causal inference, and generative AI applications across the business.
He founded Vulpine Works in 2025 to take that combination of analytical depth and pragmatic delivery outside of one organisation. The focus is the same as it's always been: start with the right questions, move fast to a working solution, and make sure it actually gets used.

Designed and contributed to the implementation of core modules of a bespoke pricing engine. This formed the basis of the trading logic driving Premier Inn's pricing across their hotel estate today.
A groups booking and quoting tool enabling sales teams to generate accurate quotes for large accommodation requests, without risking RevPAR targets. This in house tool drove sustained revenue uplift and served as proof of concept for the formally delivered Groups Quoting Tool which is in use today.
